How it all started

The creation of this blog can be traced back to Thursday 18th of June 2026- the MCV Develop Awards. I was only able to attend thanks to an incredibly generous LinkedIn post from Diva Agency, who had a space ticket they didn't want to go to waste. Through my LinkedIn network, and speedy timing, I was able to respond to the post in time to secure a ticket hours before the event. I had an incredible time meeting so many new people and becoming a sponge for the evening- learning how to network, industry advice and the key piece of advice that led to me creating this blog.

To land a role in project management, I need experience on top of my degree and the projects I'd been part of during my time at university. So, maybe in my spare time I could create a game? Teaming up with a few friends and making something sounds like a good way to get more hands on experience, but there's one big issue- games take too long to make. Plus, it still won't give me the industry standard experience I need. I need a way to show employers that I'm prepared for a role.

Since deciding to create this blog, I've been talking to industry professionals, asking them all the same question- "What is the most common problem you find in teams as a project manager?". Doing this has created a list of problems and conversation topics that I will explore in this blog, preparing me to tackle problems before they actually show and hopefully helping others along the way.
